Dear Findlay Elementary Families,

It is with much excitement that I welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year. I am eager to get this school year started and continue to work hard for the students of Findlay Elementary School. Go Falcons! I want to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding our procedures:

  • We will continue to require ID of EVERYONE when entering the front office. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep all of our students safe!

  • We will be strictly enforcing the attendance policy that is printed in the Student/Parent Handbook. One note, a student must attend at least 50% of the school day to be counted as present. If a student misses more than 50% of the school day, that will be reported as an absence (not a tardy). Each student has five days that can be excused by a parent note. This must be in writing. Phone calls are appreciated but in order to be excused, printed/ written documentation is required.

  • Just a reminder about our student dress code. This can be found in the Code of Conduct in the Student/Parent Handbook. Dress code includes: Beach-type flip flops, clothing with obscene printing, halter tops, or other clothing that may be deemed inappropriate should not be worn. Tank top style shirts must be at least 2 inches wide at the shoulder. Clothing should not show any undergarments or midriff. Shorts can be no shorter than mid-thigh.

  • We have also updated our electronic device policy. It states: Students should not bring electronic devices to school. Prohibited items include but are not limited to: cell phones, tablets, smart watches, video games, IPods, music players, cameras, etc. Items will be confiscated and held at the principal's discretion.

  • If your child needs to ride a different bus than usual, they must bring a note with the following information: Student’s name, physical address where the bus will need to drop them off, bus number (can be found on This will save time and confusion while ensuring your child arrives safely at their destination. Also, if you plan to change your child’s afternoon transportation plans, please call the office NO LATER THAN 2:30pm unless it is an emergency situation.

All procedures and other important information can be found in our Student Handbook under the “Parents” tab above.
